Beah SHIN
Born in Seoul, Korea
Lives and works in Paris, France
Where does an authentic gaze arise, and how can we stay attuned to a world in constant flux?
Beah Shin creates spaces where reality and imagination merge, where sensations drift, dissolve, and return. Born in Korea and based in France, she explores how memory, perception, and identity shift across cultural, digital, and technological landscapes, following the subtle ideological boundaries that shape our understanding of self and other.
Reinterpreting Jingyeong (眞景, the 19th-century concept of the “authentic view”) and Poongkyeong (風景, landscape) as evolving processes rather than fixed forms, her work invites viewers to slow down, see differently, and immerse themselves in the delicate interplay between image, time, bodily experience, and the cultural, historical, and perceptual boundaries that quietly define our experience.
